New Heights School was delighted to welcome former professional footballer Graham Stack to our Key Stage 3 provision recently as part of the fantastic work he is undertaking through Pro Project Promotions in support of Children’s Charity Merseyside.
Graham enjoyed a successful professional football career spanning almost 20 years, playing as a goalkeeper for a number of well-known clubs including Arsenal F.C., Reading F.C., Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., Millwall F.C., Barnet F.C. and Kerala Blasters FC. Throughout his career, he experienced football at the highest levels both in England and internationally, before moving into community and charity work following his retirement from the professional game.

During his visit, Graham spent time meeting students and staff, learning more about the work taking place across the provision and the positive impact inclusive environments can have on children and young people.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet Graham, hear about his experiences, and engage in discussions around resilience, teamwork, and positive aspirations.
We are incredibly grateful to Children’s Charity Merseyside for the generous funding they have provided over the last twelve months towards the development of our Wonderland Retreat, sensory room, and office spaces. These areas are designed to support the wellbeing, emotional regulation, and therapeutic needs of our students, helping to create calm, nurturing environments where young people feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
The support from both Pro Project Promotions and Children’s Charity Merseyside will make a lasting difference to the experiences and opportunities available to our students, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks for their continued commitment to supporting children and young people across the region.
