As part of Knife Crime Awareness Week 2026, New Heights School is supporting the promotion of an important online webinar for parents and carers aimed at raising awareness of knife crime and helping families keep young people safe.
The webinar, hosted by Catch22 County Lines Support Service, will take place online on Thursday 21st May 2026 from 5:00pm–6:00pm and is designed to provide parents and carers with valuable information, guidance, and opportunities for discussion.
During the session, attendees will explore:
- What knife crime is and the impact it can have on young people, families, and communities
- The types of weapons most commonly carried
- How and where knives are being accessed by young people
- The importance of early intervention, education, and multi-agency safeguarding in preventing knife crime
The webinar will also provide an opportunity for parents and carers to ask questions and access further support and advice.
At New Heights School, we recognise the importance of working together with families and external agencies to safeguard young people and raise awareness around issues that can place children at risk. We encourage any parents or carers who may benefit from this session to register their interest.
