On Friday 15th April 2025 we hosted a created Continued Professional Development Opportunity for 16 Trainee Art Teachers and their course co-ordinator from Liverpool Hope University, at our Key Stage 3 Site.
The trainees had the opportunity to hear about the experiences of staff working within an Art Department in a Pupil Referral Unit, discussing the diverse challenges and the various rewards of working in such a setting.
The trainees took part in a multi-sensory practical workshop which included UV lights and acrylic painting, giving an experience of what our students put into practice at New Heights School Key Stage 3, in order to enjoy and better engage in Art.
The CPD was a great success and leads to future links with Liverpool Hope University, which includes an opportunity for the students at New Heights Key Stage 3 to display their Artwork in an upcoming exhibition at the University.
