At New Heights School Key Stage 3 during Childre’s Mental Health Week, this year.
The students had a fun day taking part in different activities, learning about ways they can look after their mental health and wellbeing.
Healthy connections are vital to help support our mental health and sense of wellbeing. When our need for rewarding social connections is not met, we can sometimes feel isolated and lonely – which can have a negative impact on our mental health.
Some of the activities the students took part in were sensory circuits, team-work challenges – escape room style, gratitude chains, trust games, planting flowers, mindfulness doodles and creating some delicious ‘fake aways’.
It was amazing to see all the students smiling and making some important connections through fun with their peers and staff.
