New Heights recently participated in ‘National Numeracy Day’ on 18 May 2022.
Staff and pupils took part in numerous fun activities throughout the day including; Countdown, Who wants to be a millionaire? Treasure hunts and a whole school basketball challenge.
As a school we recognise and are passionate about embedding the knowledge, skills, behaviours and dispositions that students need in order to use mathematics in a wide range of situations. It involves recognising and understanding the role of mathematics in the world and having capacities to use mathematical knowledge and skills purposefully.
The day was a fantastic success and our young people were a credit to us all following our rule of ‘Ready, Respectful, Safe’ whilst working together to complete challenges.
