Key Stage 3 – July 2021
A look back at our Mental Health & Wellbeing day on 8th July 2021
The students had the opportunity to focus on the importance of mental health and well-being and were able to experience positive and fun activities known to promote good mental health and well-being.
We used the 5 ways to well-being as shared by the NHS (mindfulness, giving to others, keeping active, learning and connecting with others) and based the whole day around these areas.
The staff planned some really great activities for our students, and everyone had a great day. We had some amazing feedback from our students and below you will find some activities in action.
Mental health and well-being is important for us all. Being aware that it carries just as much importance as physical well-being is vital for our children to grow up knowing this, and having skills to improve their own mental health and well-being.
Thanks go to Louise Gumbley our Intervention Manager for supporting staff in delivering such a wonderful day for all.
Here are some quotes from our students about the day:
“I loved making stress balls in Literacy”
“I’ve learnt what to do to help me relax”
“I didn’t even know what a downward dog was!”
“I’ve had loads of fun today. It’s been great having a laugh with the staff, and I’ve learnt something new!
