Monday 13th November 2023 marked the beginning of this year’s Knife Crime Awareness week as part of the national knife crime awareness scheme, Operation Sceptre. This is a week of action to raise awareness of knife crime, aiming to proactively raise awareness of knife related crime and increase education around knife crime. The week highlights the complexity of the problem, the devastation it causes to families and communities and ultimately that knife crime is preventable.
Students in school participated in an assembly highlighting the effects of knife crime and measures to decrease knife crime across Merseyside and were welcomed into school on Tuesday by our Schools Police Officer, PC Caroline Dixon and her PCSO colleagues using the airport style scanners in a bid to raise awareness.
There is no place for knives in our communities and our work continues daily to educate our students.
