Head of School’s Message
Welcome to New Heights School Key Stage 3.
We are very proud of our school and I am extremely privileged to be the Head of School. New Heights School Key Stage 3 is a very special place.
At New Heights Key Stage 3 we understand that every student’s experience of learning has been different and for some students, their place in their mainstream school is at risk.
We understand that young people can only learn when their basic needs are being met and understood, therefore we place the physical needs and safety, mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing of all, at the heart of all that we do.
We strive to create an engaging, broad and balanced curriculum where our students can flourish whilst embarking on exciting learning journeys and opportunities that build on their interests and stimulate and deepen their understanding.

Staff at New Heights School – Key Stage 3 are confident and skilled in building positive
relationships that help to break down barriers, build self-esteem and encourage
engagement. Our knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed and emotionally friendly practice, nurture principles, restorative approaches and high-quality inclusive teaching and learning underpin all our work with our students.
Teachers and support staff use these approaches to understand the needs of each of our
students individually and how best to support and nurture their progress. All of our staff are
wholly committed to meeting the needs of our students and are extremely caring, supportive and flexible.
Our aspiration for all or students, is that they will re-engage with learning, be
successful and achieve their full potential, enabling them to successfully transition to the
next stage of their education.
