As part of the “Disarm Hate, Arm With Hope” campaign, our school recently took part in anti-violence and exploitation awareness sessions provided by Make Life Kind, a charity dedicated to educating young people on important social, safety, and stigmatised topics.

In partnership with the Ava White Foundation, Ava White’s mum and aunty attended and shared their powerful story, leaving a profound impact on our students. The sessions were hard hitting, and our students responded with great respect, even getting involved with the hands-on experience of using a stab kit.
These workshops were designed to help students make positive choices and navigate challenges such as peer pressure, gang grooming, and conflict resolution. With knife and weapon crime affecting many communities, these sessions aimed to encourage students to choose kindness over violence. Featuring real-life stories, interactive activities, and open discussions, the sessions were delivered by experts with personal experience of the tragic consequences of knife crime and exploitation.
This impactful initiative inspired our students to consider the long-term impact of their choices and empowered them to build a more positive future
