This accessibility statement applies to the New Heights School website at www.newheightsschool.co.uk.
The website is managed by New Heights School. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it, including people who use assistive technologies.
We aim to ensure that users can:
navigate the website using a keyboard;
zoom in without text becoming difficult to read;
use a screen reader to access the main content;
understand links, headings and page content; and
request information in an alternative format where required.
Further advice about making devices easier to use is available from AbilityNet.
We know that some parts of the website are not fully accessible:
some links and navigation controls may not have sufficiently clear accessible names;
some PDF documents may not be fully structured or tagged for screen-reader users; and
some older documents have not yet been fully checked against current accessibility standards.
We are reviewing these areas as part of our ongoing website compliance work.
If you experience difficulty using this website or need information in a different format, such as accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille, please contact us:

We will consider your request and respond as soon as reasonably practicable.
We welcome feedback about the accessibility of this website.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
If you are not satisfied with how we respond to an accessibility concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
New Heights School is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard because of the issues described below.
Some links and navigation controls do not have a sufficiently clear accessible name. This may make their purpose unclear to people using screen readers or speech-recognition software.
We will address these issues with our website provider as part of the 2026/27 website review.
Some PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen-reader users. For example, documents may not contain appropriate headings, tags or a logical reading order.
We are reviewing essential and frequently used documents. Where practicable, important information will also be provided as accessible webpage content.
Anyone who requires a document in an alternative format should contact the school.
We have not made a disproportionate-burden assessment.
We are:
reviewing navigation controls and links that do not have clear accessible names;
checking the accessibility of essential documents;
using accessible webpage content instead of PDF documents where practicable;
considering accessibility when new content is created or uploaded; and
including website accessibility within our regular compliance reviews.
This statement was prepared on 22 September 2026.
The website was reviewed on 22 September 2026 using a representative sample of the Home, Website Compliance and Policies pages. The review considered page structure, alternative text, links, navigation controls and downloadable documents.
This was a limited internal review rather than a full independent technical audit. A broader review against WCAG 2.2 AA will form part of the school’s 2026/27 website compliance work.
This statement will be reviewed by September 2027, or sooner if there is a significant change to the website.
